Real Style: Birthday Fiesta

I’m easing into this outfit post thing, mainly because I feel awkward by myself in front of a camera! So I decided to use some real shots I took at my friend Beth’s 30th birthday party.

{myself, the birthday girl, & the new mama, color coordinating. oops!}

It was a lovely dinner at El Centro with friends, margaritas, & some ridiculously good guacamole. A lot of guacamole.

This maxi dress from Old Navy is my favorite- very comfy & comes in petite so I don’t feel like I’m drowning in fabric. I added in pops of color with my accessories (including my shoes which I didn’t get a photo of- style blogger fail) but kept things fairly simple.

1. old navy maxi dress (older but similar here)| 2. forever 21 necklace (mine was older but also forever 21)| 3. rebecca minkoff clutch (mine was h&m & not available online)| 4. yellow hoop earrings (my actual earrings were a gift)| 5. nine west platforms (mine were older but also nine west)

Alright, so anyone want to give me advice on this outfit post thing? Clearly I need some help 🙂

  1. i know what you mean – i have a hard time doing the outfit posts too! although i do have one coming up next week (3rd of all time, i think!) i feel like i always look so silly – but i love seeing other bloggers in their outfit posts, and i have to assume they feel the same way. so i say – just do it! 🙂

  2. I wish I could do outfit posts! I don’t have anyone to take photos. I tried once with a tripod, but the camera focused too much on my boobs 😦 You look great though! I love how you made a black maxi into a fun evening outfit with pops of color!

    Come dress me for class while I’m in Scotland?

    Great outfits and happy to be part of this post!

    I hate posing for photos too. And the outfit photos that don’t look posed look great BUT it’s tough to look “natural.” I’ve done one “photo shoot” and seeing all of the photos (my friend took a ton) helped-I could see what looked good and what didn’t look good.

    I love the clutch. And you look great

    You look great, and I love the outfit. I love seeing these posts, too! 🙂
