Art to Inspiration: Moonlight

I am really excited to be taking part in Chevron & Eclair’s monthly series, Art to Inspiration!

This combines all my favorite colors for spring: pale pinks, pops of yellow, & splashes of navy. I love how the feminine pink pairs with the bolder hues of navy & yellow, giving more interesting neutral than a white or a tan.

The navy is a focal point in the painting much as the dress is the focal point. The neutral pinks come in through the shoes & purse (plus a I love the pop of turquoise on the soles). The delicate earrings still get noticed with the yellow base & the rest of the colors come in through a stack of bangles. I love how the subtle dots in the painting show up in just one bangle, bringing in a touch of pattern along with the yellow stripes.

So pretty for a spring brunch or party!

I have never really used art as outfit inspiration but am loving it!

What other non-traditional inspiration do you guys use?
