I’m feeling a bit stressed today due to a great but not very work productive weekend!
So I’m thinking of things that calm me down when I’m stressed out and how important it is to take time out for yourself to do something you love.
(Though taking time out this weekend got me into this mess in the first place!)
Baths, reading a good book, going for a walk, or having a glass of wine are always good but nothing for me melts away the stress like……
I’ve been singing in choirs since I was little & took voice lesson all through high school & college. In fact a very wise teacher once told me that singers never fight with their spouses or get angry because they sing.
While that is not completely true (clearly I will not sing away at my annoyance at seeing my husband’s socks around the house) I’ve found that it does melt away the stress for me.
So this past winter I took a singing class for the first time in years and have to say, its a great way to start off the week!
Rediscovering a love of something I’ve grown up doing has definitely made me a happier person.
So the Monday challenge: remember something you’ve loved to do & find a way to start up with it again. Nothing is a better stress buster!
